This scholarship is an early intervention award for a middle school student from the Alle-Kiski Valley who writes an essay during Black History Month and brings it to life during the annual Oratorical Competition

This scholarship recognizes the importance of a well balanced high school experience, one that includes good grades, athletics, extra-curricular activities, after school involvement in the community, and if necessary part-time employment for a student of color who is a high school senior..

The New Kensington Lion’s Club Award

This scholarship recognizes community service in the spirit of Lionism.  

and this student also won the Varner Norman Broadcast-Media Scholarship

which recognizes an African American student interested in pursuing a college career in broadcast journalism.
